The Shooting of the Short Films Within the Sarajevo City of Film 2013 is Finished
The shooting of the last scene of MY! MY! MY LITTLE ROOM! by Barbara Vekarić from Croatia (a participant of the 6th STC) on Monday night marked the end of shooting for this year’s Sarajevo City of Film shorts. The film stars Ismir Gagula (a participant of the 6th STC), Ena Kurtalić (a participant of the 6th STC), Larisa Gagula, Gordana Boban, Izudin Bajrović and Ravijojla Jovančić Lešić.
The beginning of this month saw the completion of MORNING PRAYERS by Konstantina Kotzamani (Greece) and Katarina Stanković (Serbia) and Holiday at the Seaside by the Romanian director Cristina Grosan.
Kotzamani and Stanković took part in the 6th Sarajevo Talent Campus. The script was written by Maša Seničić, and the main roles played by Ismir Gagula (a participant of the 5th STC), Hana Pašić and Serafedin Redžepov.
The script for HOLIDAY AT THE SEASIDE was written by the Romanian director Cristina Grosan (a participant of the 5th STC) and Stefan Statnic (a participant of the 5th STC). Statnic plays the male lead and the film co-stars Andreea Vasile (a participant of the 5th STC) and Mara Purza.
As every year, the members of selected teams come from different countries and they comprise directors and actors from at least two different countries in the region. In addition, these young actors, participants of the previous Talent Campuses, will work side by side with professional actors. This way the Sarajevo Film Festival seeks to encourage their working together as well as the establishing of a new network of young creative talent in the region, whose work is to become the future of regional cinema.
The participants of this year’s Producers’ Workshop will be working on all the films, and they are young producers Dragana Jovanović (Serbia), Dora Nedeczky (Hungary), Luka Venturin (Croatia). The Sarajevo City of Film Producers’ Workshop is intended for all the young film professionals from Southeast Europe who took part as producers in one of the previous editions of the Sarajevo Talent Campus.
All the films made as part of the 2013 Sarajevo City of Film project will be premiered at the 19th Sarajevo Film Festival.
The main partner of the Sarajevo City of Film project is the ATLANTIC Group, which will again award the best film of the 2013 Sarajevo City of Film project. All the films will also compete for the British Council Short Film Award which will, for the third year in a row, make it possible for the winning director to pay a professional visit to the 19th Encounters Short Film and Animation Festival. The Encounters is the oldest festival of short and animated films in the United Kingdom and, as such, a significant promoter of the short film and its importance for new generations of directors and animators.
