Good-bye to Our Two Dear Colleagues Artan Minarolli and Annamaria Percavassi

Sarajevo Film Festival would like to say good-bye to our two dear colleagues Artan Minarolli and Annamaria Percavassi who passed away recently.

Artan Minarolli was a filmmaker who scripted and directed 5 feature films including ALIVE from 2009, and THE MOONLESS NIGHT from 2004, and THE CLAY BULLET from 1995. He was very involved in the development and promotion of Albanian cinema. From 2006 to 2009 he headed the Albanian Film Archive, and from 2009 to 2014 Albanian National Cinema Center. Artan died of a heart attack at the age of 57 on 31st December 2015. He was still an active member of Albanian film community serving as Eurimages representative among other functions.

Annamaria Percavassi died on January 2nd 2016 in her hometown Trieste, where she founded The Association Alpe Adria cinema and Trieste Film Festival. She was a great believer in film and art and she strongly believed that European cinema cannot be seen or rooted without a strong focus on the Balkans and East-European cinema. She died just a few weeks away from the opening of the 26th edition of Treiste Film Festival, which under her wing became an important platform for promotion and development of cinema.

Both Artan and Annamaria believed in sharing knowledge and passion and were pioneers in their surroundings, and as such they will be remembered.

Sarajevo Film Festival team extends deepest condolences to their families and colleagues.
