CineLink Talks with Dragan Bjelogrlić: GUARDIANS OF THE FORMULA Has International Potential

As part of the Cinelink Talks programme, a conversation was held with actor and director Dragan Bjelogrlić on August 17th at Hotel Europe, following the regional premiere of the film GUARDIANS OF THE FORMULA. The discussion was moderated by Maša Marković, the head of the Industry Department at the Sarajevo Film Festival.

Bjelogrlić stated that, based on the audience's reaction at the Locarno Film Festival, it appears that there is potential for international communication with the audience. He mentioned that around 2,000 people attended the film screening. He also emphasized that GUARDIANS OF THE FORMULA is an inherently international story that covers a multitude of universal themes, with emotion being one of the most universal of them all, as stated by the director.

The film received the Green Leopard at this year's Locarno Film Festival, an award given to a film that best addresses environmental themes. Bjelogrlić mentioned that, after discussing with the jury, he learned that the jury had been moved to tears and had already decided on the first day that this film would likely receive the award.

He highlighted that emotion is the guiding star and, that when it comes to the actor-director relationship, his experience in directing improves his acting, and while directing, he utilizes his acting experience.

GUARDIANS OF THE FORMULA had a gala screening in the Competiton Programme - Feature Film at the 29th Sarajevo Film Festival, where it was screened out of competition. The audience will have the opportunity to watch the film on August 19th at 10 p.m. at Multiplex Cineplexx Sarajevo.
