Audience Award for "Bridges of Sarajevo" at the 50th Pesaro Film Festival

The film BRIDGES OF SARAJEVO, produced by Obala Art Center Sarajevo and French Production Company Cinétévé, received the Audience Award at the 50th Pesaro Film Festival.

The omnibus made to commemorate the centenary of the beginning of the First World War, consisting of 13 short films directed by: Aida Begić, Leonardo Di Costanza, Jean-Luc Godard, Kamen Kalev, Isild Le Besco, Sergei Loznitsa, Vincenzo Marra, Ursula Meier, Vladimir Perišić, Cristi Puiu, Marc Recha, Angela Schanelec and Teresa Villaverde, was shown within the Cinema in Piazza Programme. The Cinema in Piazza Programme gathered works from different festival film programmes, while screenings of films in competition for the Audience Award were held under the open sky on the main square in Pesaro. BRIDGES OF SARAJEVO was included in the Special Screenings Programme of the Pesaro Film Festival.

Audience Award for the film BRIDGES OF SARAJEVO, but also the reaction of those who saw the film at BiH preview held the same evening when the film was shown in Pesaro, announce the successful and long-lasting festival life of this work of art.

To reminder you, the film BRIDGES OF SARAJEVO had its world premiere within this year's Cannes Film Festival, where it was received exceptionally well by both, the audience and the critics.

Jean-Michel Frodon is the art director of the film, while animated sequences are signed by François Schuiten and Luis da Matta Almeida.

Producers of BRIDGES OF SARAJEVO are Mirsad Purivatra, Jovan Marjanović, Fabienne Servan Schreiber and Laurence Miller. Film was realized in coproduction with partners from Switzerland (BANDE A PART FILMS), Italy (MIR CINEMATOGRAFICA), Portugal (UKBAR FILMES) and Germany (UNAFILM).

The authors of BRIDGES OF SARAJEVO deal with different moments in Sarajevo’s history: 1914-1918 and 1992 - 1995 periods, as well as today’s Sarajevo. It is a mosaic of critical, artistic perceptions of different universal issues symbolized by a historic place such as Sarajevo.
