Welcome to the 19th Sarajevo Film Festival!

The day has arrived! The 19th edition of the Sarajevo Film Festival will officially begin tonight.

We invite you to join us on the red carpet that will feature the cast and crew of AN EPISODE IN THE LIFE OF AN IRON PICKER, led by the director Danis Tanović, who is also this year’s president of the jury for the Competition Programme - Features.

In addition to festival guests, we will be joined tonight bymany prominent individuals from the sphere of culture and public life in the region.

This year the Festival is bringing 214 carefully selected films from 59 countries, and among them 41 films competing for Heart of Sarajevo Awards in three sections.

The official opening ceremony will be held at the National Theatre (starting at 9.30 PM). The official ceremony will be hosted by the Bosnian-Herzegovinian actress Marija Pikić, winner of last year’s Heart of Sarajevo for Best Actress.

In anticipation of tonight’s opening, we wish all filmophiles a warm welcome to the 19th Sarajevo Film Festival.
