Second Edition of Slano Film Days – June 17 – June 21 2025

The author of the concept and director of Slano Film Days, Miro Purivatra, and his associates managed to establish Slano as a new meeting center for filmmakers and film lovers.

The second edition of the event, which connects emerging filmmakers and eminent world names from the world of film and the film industry, will be held in Slano and the Elaphiti Islands from June 17 to June 21 2025.

Slano Film Days focuses on the creative process, film as an art form, leaving aside its commodity value. Filmmakers of global reputation have the opportunity to share their experience, but also to be inspired by young talents who, in turn, have the opportunity to meet directly with some of the most important names from the world of the film industry, in a friendly and informal atmosphere. Lectures, workshops, film screenings, talks and numerous informal gatherings, as well as the exchange of experiences and ideas, enable young but already established directors, actors and cinematographers to openly discuss the creative process of filmmaking, their ideas and new projects, free from competitive pressure.

The author of the concept and director of Slano Film Days, Miro Purivatra, and his associates managed to establish Slano as a new meeting center for filmmakers and film lovers.

"Slano Film Days is a unique experience," said last year's guest of Slano Film Days and five-time Oscar winner Alfonso Cuarón. “This is a community of filmmakers and actors of different cultural backgrounds and generations who have come together to share different approaches in their creative impulses. All differences are erased in the common goal of acquiring knowledge and creating films."

The satisfaction of festival guests and participants, as well as residents and visitors of Slano after the first edition of Slano Film Days is the best indicator that Slano has already been established as a new meeting center for filmmakers and film lovers.

A total of 13 film artists have received an invitation from the organizers to participate in the second edition of Slano Film Days, who will attend workshops in the field of acting, directing or camera and thus contribute to their professional and personal development.

Lectures and workshops intended for actors will be attended by six actresses and actors who already have notable roles in numerous film achievements: Iva Babić (Croatia), Yllka Gashi (Kosovo*), Marko Grabež (Serbia), Maja Izetbegović (Bosnia and Herzegovina), Klara Kuk (Slovenia) and Mišo Obradović (Montenegro).

Five established directors will participate in programs intended for directors: Gregor Božić (Slovenia), Jelena Gavrilović (Serbia), Samir Karahoda (Kosovo*), Ivan Marinović (Montenegro) and Nebojša Slijepčević (Croatia).

Two participants of the lectures and workshops for cinematographers are very successful in their artistic activity: Magdalena Ptiček (Croatia) and Emilija Gašić (Serbia), who comes in the capacity of director and cinematographer.

The final list will be published on 15 March 2025.

More details about the participants of Slano Film Days can be found in the 2025 Participants section.

The partner of this film event is the most important film festival in the region, the Sarajevo Film Festival.

The participation of film professionals and students from the region at Slano Film Days was supported by regional film centers and funds through a partnership with Slano Film Days: Croatian Audiovisual Center, Film Center Serbia, Film Center of Montenegro and Slovenian Film Center.

Slano Film Days will be held in Slano and the Elaphiti Islands from June 17 to June 21 2025.
