Prizes awarded to the authors of the best reels at the "Films for Future" competition

the presentation of awards to the authors of the best reels at the "Films for Future" competition was held on August 22, at the Festival square, as part of the programme of the 30th Sarajevo Film Festival.

The director of the Sarajevo Film Festival, Jovan Marjanović, the representative of the Green Club, Želimir Nešković, and the deputy resident representative of the UNDP in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Victor Munteanu, spoke about the project.

"The great interest in the festival should be used to promote such urgent messages that we must send to as many people as possible. We show by our own example that these are not just words, but also actions. The films you created really help that and we are really grateful to you for that," said Jovan Marjanović.

The five best 90-second videos, chosen by the creative jury, were made by Elman Hasanspahić from Vogošća, Adina Mujkanović from Maglaj, Amelie Kreitz from Trnovo, Ailana Sofić from Živinice and Muhamed Selimović from Zenica. The prizes for the best videos were provided by the Green Club, and they won an electric scooter, a bicycle, a drone, wireless headphones and a tablet.

"I am glad that a large number of young people are present here today. It is a nice indicator of how much creativity was seen in these young people. This makes a contribution to the Sarajevo Film Festival and to us in the Green Club," said Nešković.

The "Films for Future" competition was organized by the Sarajevo Film Festival, in partnership with Sarajevo, the UNESCO City of Film, and the Green Club, which consists of MPs/representatives of the parliaments in Bosnia and Herzegovina, with the support of the United Nations Development Program in BiH (UNDP BiH).

"This was a great opportunity to get in touch with people, in contact with young people. Exactly these questions mentioned here are something we will work on. Cinematography is, among other things, the way you see the world and the way you actually see the world. I want to thank you for the message you sent," said Munteanu.

Young people recorded a video on one of the topics: What can young people do for a healthier and greener planet? How can I help preserve the environment? How can I make positive changes in my environment?

The competition was organized with the aim of raising awareness of sustainable development and environmental protection for all of us and future generations. In recognition of the global youth movement "Fridays for Future", this competition is called "Films for Future".

In accordance with its determination to achieve the Net Zero mission - a zero rate of pollution, with this initiative the Sarajevo Film Festival strives to contribute to raising awareness about the protection of the planet. By incorporating sustainable practices into the Festival's actions and encouraging the audience to actively participate in it, the Festival strives to create a long-lasting positive impact on the community and the environment.
