CineLink Work in Progress call for entries is now open. CineLink Work in Progress selects up to 10 feature length projects in post-production to be presented exclusively to invited international sales agents, top festival programmers, distributors, representatives of public funds and post-production houses during the 30th Sarajevo Film Festival, August 16-23, 2024. Deadline for submitting the applications is June 7, 2024.
The section is carefully curated on both ends, thus creating an environment that boosts the chance the projects are completed and taken to the international market in the best possible way.
We encourage filmmakers from Southeast Europe, Northern Africa, Middle East, Central Asia, and Ukraine, to submit their projects (both fiction and documentary narrative ones). If an applicant intends to reapply with a project that was previously rejected in the CineLink Work in Progress Calls, it is mandatory to provide an explanation stating the changes made to the project and send it to industry@sff.ba, where CineLink Work in Progress team will determine if you are eligible to apply again.
Projects compete for the following awards: Turkish National Radio Television (TRT) Award (€25,000, cash)* and the Post Republic Award (€30,000, in kind). Projects from the CineLink Work in Progress alongside with projects from Docu Rough Cut Boutique strand will be eligible for the CineLink Impact Award (impact campaing in the amount of €20,000) presented by Think-Film Impact Production.
Among many others, previous Work in Progress projects include DIARIES FROM LEBANON (CineLink Work in Progress 2022, Berlinale 2024), THE EDITORIAL OFFICE (CineLink Work in Progress 2022, Berlinale 2024), HESITATION WOUND (CineLink Work in Progress 2021, 2022, Venice Film Festival 2023), DORMITORY (CineLink Work in Progress 2022, Venice Film Festival 2023), VERA DREAMS OF THE SEA by Kaltrina Krasniqi (La Biennale di Venezia, Inclusion Edipo Re Award and the "Female Authors Under 40" Award), DEATH OF CINEMA AND MY FATHER TOO by Dani Rosenberg (CineLink Work in Progress 2018, Cannes 2020 Label), HONEYLAND by Tamara Kotevska and Ljubomir Stefanov (World Cinema Grand Jury Prize: Documentary and World Cinema Documentary Special Jury Award for Impact for Change, Sundance 2019, Oscars nomination Best Documentary, Best International Film).

*The TRT Award - the awarded amount will be transferred to the production company by the Festival and would be made as a license agreement for TV rights for the territory of the Turkey and Former Yugoslavia.
