Jury of the Competition Programme – Documentary Film of the 29th Sarajevo Film Festival

Program coordinator at Chicken and Egg Pictures Iva Dimitrova, artistic director at CPH:Dox Niklas Engstrom and director and producer Péter Kerekes will serve on the Jury of the Competition Programme - Documentary Film of the 29th Sarajevo Film Festival.

Iva Dimitrova is a Program Manager at Chicken & Egg Pictures, a US-based funding organization that provides a global community of women and non-binary documentary filmmakers with creative and financial support. Dimitrova oversees the application, selection, and evaluation activities for all programs and grants. She is focused on the iterative improvement of internal processes to ensure transparent, equitable, and affirming experiences for filmmakers across key touchpoints with the organization.

Niklas Engstrom
Artistic Director at CPH Dox

Niklas Engstrom is the Artistic Director of CPH:DOX. Born 1979 in Copenhagen, Denmark, he holds degrees in Political Science and Film & Media Studies, both from University of Copenhagen. In 2003, he was approached by Tine Fischer and asked if he wanted to start a documentary film festival with her - and today CPH:DOX ranks among the most important documentary festivals around. He has worked as associate programmer at the festival since the first edition in 2003 and as senior programmer since 2008. He was appointed Head of the Program Department in 2015.

Péter Kerekes
Director, Producer

Péter Kerekes (1973, Košice, Slovakia)  is a film director, producer and teacher. He directed&produced 107 MOTHERS (2021), VELVET TERRORISTS (2013), COOKING HISTORY (2009) and 66 SEASONS (2003). Kerekes also produced the omnibus documentary OCCUPATION 1968 (2018), which maps the occupation of Czechoslovakia from the perspective of 5 directors coming from 5 different countries (Evdokia Moskvina, Linda Dombrovszky, Magdalena Szymkow. Elisa Marie Scheidt, Stephan Komandarev). As a co-producer he took part in various projects for example FRAGILE MEMORY (2022) by Ihor Ivanko, CAUGHT IN THE NET (2020) by Vít Klusák and Barbora Chalupová and THE WIND. DOCUMENTARY THRILLER 2019) by Michał Bielawski. Kerekes is teaching at Academy of Performing Artrs in Bratislava and at the DocNomads – joint masters in Budapest.

The 29th Sarajevo Film Festival will take place from 11th to 18th of August 2023.
