28th Sarajevo Film Festival: 51 films to compete for Heart of Sarajevo awards

A total of 51 films will compete for the Heart of Sarajevo awards at the 28th Sarajevo Film Festival. The Festival’s four competition sections – for feature, documentary, short and student film – will feature 21 world, 7 international, 1 European, 21 regional and 1 B&H premiere.

This year, the Sarajevo Film Festival Programmers team lead by Creative Director Izeta Građević has seen 751 films submitted for the Festival, including 160 feature fiction films, 211 documentary, 240 short and 140 student titles.

Elma Tataragić, programmer of the Competition Programme – Feature Film will present eight titles. The selection features four world premieres and four regional premieres.

Rada Šešić, programmer of the Competition Programme – Documentary Film picked 22 titles. The selection features eight world premieres, three international, one European, nine regional premieres and one B&H premiere.

Ten titles selected by Elma Tataragić will be screened in the Competition Programme – Short Film. The selection features four world, one international and five regional premieres.

Asja Krsmanović, programmer of the Competition Programme – Student Film picked 11 titles. The selection features four world premieres, four international and three regional premieres.

The programme is open for films and filmmakers from Albania, Armenia, Austria, Azerbejan, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Greece, Georgia, Hungary, Kosovo*, North Macedonia, Malta, Moldova, Montenegro, Romania, Serbia, Slovenia, Türkiye and Ukraine.
