7 projects selected for the 7th Work in Progress sessions in Sarajevo

Projects from Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Israel, Kazakhstan, Romania, Slovenia and Serbia make up the lucky seven having made the cut for this year's CineLink Work in Progress sessions. In addition, three projects have been added to the CineLink Co-Production Market.

CineLink's Work in Progress sessions (Aug 20-21) present promising films currently in post-production to specially invited decision-makers from the European film industry, interested in engaging in their completion or distribution. 

In recent years an impressive number of former Work in Progress projects have gone on to major international recognition - If I Want to Whistle I Whistle by Florin Serban (Jury Grand Prix Silver Bear and Alfred Bauer Prize, Berlinale 2010), Harmony Lessons by Emir Baigazin (Silver Bear, Berlinale 2013), Mold by Ali Aydın (Lion of the Future, Venice 2012), White Shadow by Noaz Deshe (Lion of the Future, Venice 2013), The Lamb by Kutluğ Ataman (CICAE Art Cinema Award, Berlin Panorama 2014) and Toto and His Sisters by Alexander Nanau (competing in San Sebastian 2014), to name just a few.  

This year's lineup consists of six fiction projects and one documentary, selected from the festival's documentary workshop Docu Rough Cut Boutique.

Two significant awards will be handed out to projects in the Work in Progress section: The Post Republic Award – in kind post production services worth EUR 80.000 and The Restart Award – in kind support worth EUR 20.000. 

The 2014 Work in Progress jury: Nelleke Driessen, Managing Director, Fortissimo Films, Meinolf Zurhorst, Commissioning Editor ZDF/ARTE and Tolke Palm, Producer, The Post Republic.

In addition, CineLink has selected three additional guest projects for its Co-Production Market:

CineLink takes place during Sarajevo Film Festival on August 20-23, and is a development and financing platform for around 30 carefully selected regional feature-length fiction films open for European co-production. Its aim is to provide a platform designed to meet the current needs and expectations of Southeast Europe’s film industry in reshaping, and is attended by around 500 industry professionals from the region and the rest of Europe.
