CineLink Work in Progress Call for Entries
20th Sarajevo Film Festival is proud to announce that CineLink Work in Progress call for entries is now open. Deadline for submitting the applications is July 21st 2014.
CineLink Work in Progress selects films in post-production to be presented in a two-day event (August 20th-21st 2014) during the Sarajevo Film Festival exclusive to invited international sales agents, festival representatives, distributors and post-production houses. CineLink Work in Progress aims to assist the completion, subsequent festival presentation and theatrical release of the selected films.
The section is carefully curated on both ends. Only up to 7 projects are selected for presentation to specialized sales agents, top festivals programmers, representatives of public funds and postproduction services offering businesses, thus creating an environment that boosts the chance the projects are completed and taken to the international market in the best possible way.
The CineLink WIP is proud that already since 2009, an award for the project with the highest artistic value and potential for international circulation is handed out in collaboration with Berlin-based post-production facility The Post Republic. This award, decided by an international jury, consists of in-kind post-production services amounting up to 80.000 EUR from The Post Republic.
Projects that have won the award in the past years have enjoyed remarkable international success, e.g. If I Want to Whistle I Whistle by Florin Serban won the Berlinale Silver Bear and the Alfred Bauer Prize, Mold by Ali Aydin got the Lion of the Future - “Luigi De Laurentiis” Venice Award for a Debut Film at la the Mostra, last year’s Berlinale, Harmony Lessons by Emir Baigazin received the Silver Bear for the outstanding artistic contribution for its camera work while this year CICAE ART CINEMA AWARD Panorama 2014 went to Kuzu (The Lamb) Directed by Kutlug Ataman.
CineLink Work in Progress is now also open for projects from outside Southeast Europe, more specifically to projects from Northern Africa, Middle East, and Central Asia.
We look forward to seeing your films before everybody else does!
