ROLAND HASSEL in today's New Currents Programme

In today's New Currents programme you can see film Mans Mansson Roland Hassel. The film will be screened at the Meeting Point Cinema (at 6 pm).

Roland Hassel is retired police who is determined to solve the 1986 assassination of the Swedish Prime Minister Olof Palme. Without access to police files, however, the best he can manage is to attend an inept re-enactment on the 25th anniversary of the murder... Shot to look like 80s TV and employing deliciously deadpan humour, this is an intriguing first feature from director Måns Månsson.

Mans Mansson (born in 1982) holds an MFA from the Royal College of Art in Stockholm. His award-winning films have been screened at various festivals and venues throughout the world, including EIFF, the Berlinale Forum, IFF Rotterdam, Slamdance, Cinémathèque Française, Sarejevo FF and São Paolo IFF. Månsson is a three-time Swedish National Film Award (Guldbaggen) nominee and is a voting member of the European Film Academy.
