Danis Tanović - President Of The Jury

Danis Tanović was born in Zenica, and raised in Sarajevo where he studied film directing at the Sarajevo Academy of Performing Arts. When Sarajevo fell under siege, he spent two years on the frontline filming for the Army. Tanović later moved to Belgium to continue his film studies at the INSAS Film School and began making shorts and documentaries. His 2001 debut feature NO MAN'S LAND received over 40 international prizes, making it one of the most awarded first feature films in history. Set in the midst of Bosnia-Herzegovina's war in 1993, the film won the Oscar and Golden Globe for best Foreign Language Film, as well as Best Script prizes at the Cannes Film Festival and the European Film Awards. Tanović has made two other films about war and its consequences. CIRKUS COLUMBIA is set in the period just before the war breaks out in Bosnia-Herzegovina, and TRIAGE - staring Colin Farrell - dealt with post-war trauma. In 2005, Tanović made the French-language feature L'ENFER (HELL), staring many of France’s finest actors, including Emmanuelle Béart, Karin Viard, Marie Gillain, Guillaume Canet, Jacques Gamblin, Jacques Perrin, Carole Bouquet and Jean Rochefort. His latest film AN EPISODE IN THE LIFE OF AN IRON PICKER premiered in the competition program of the Berlin International Film Festival, where it won two Silver Bears - for film and Best Actor Nazif Mujic, as well as a Special Mention by the Ecumenical Jury.
Uliks Fehmiu
Actor (Serbia)
Uliks Fehmiu graduated from the Faculty of Dramatic Arts at the University of Arts in Belgrade. He has performed extensively in stage productions in Belgrade and New York and appeared in numerous films. He is one of the founders of West End Productions which is involved in film, theater, and TV production in Europe and the United States. Fehmiu is a Sarajevo Film Festival veteran with past appearances including Benjamin Filipović's feature DOBRO UŠTIMANI MRTVACI that opened the Festival's 11th edition, award-wining SUTRA UJUTRO directed by Oleg Novković, the winner of 2008 Cinelink Award BELI, BELI SVET also directed by Novković in which Fehmiu played the leading role and which he had also produced, as well as USTANIČKA ULICA directed by Miroslav Terzić. At the 18th Sarajevo Film Festival, Fehmiu won the Heart of Sarajevo award for Best Actor for his role in USTANIČKA ULICA. He currently lives in New York.
Christine A. Maier

Christine A. Maier graduated from the Academy of Music and Performing Art, Film and Television Department, in Vienna, Austria. She worked on a number of award-wining films that had been screened at festivals around the world, including films by Bosnian director Jasmila Žbanić GRBAVICA; NA PUTU; NOĆ JE, MI SVIJETLIMO; NAZAD NAPRIJED: LOST AND FOUND and LJUBAV JE. Maier also shot Žbanić's latest film LOVE ISLAND. In her rich career, Maier worked on films directed by Amie Siegel PROVIDENCE, DDR-DDR and BLACK MOON, Sophie Heldmann's SATTE FARBEN VOR SCHWARZ, DIE LIEBE DER KINDER directed by Franz Müller, Jamie Babbit's ITTY BITTY TITTY COMMITTEE, Henner Winckler's LUCY and NORDRAND by Barbara Albert.
Charles Tesson
Artistic Director of Critic's Week at Cannes Film Festival (France)
Charles Tesson is the Artistic Director of Critic's Week at Cannes Film Festival since 2012. He is also a film critic in Cahiers du Cinéma since 1979, and a former editor of this magazine. He teaches cinema, history and esthetics at La Sorbonne Nouvelle (Université Paris III). He is the author of several books and essays on cinema, including Satyajit Ray (1992), Luis Buñuel (1995), El from Luis Buñuel (1996), Photogénie de la Série B (1997), Théâtre et cinéma (2007) and Akira Kurosawa (2008). He edited several special issues for Cahiers du Cinéma - including Made in Hong Kong (1984) with Olivier Assayas and Made in China (1999) - and co-edited the book L'Asie à Hollywood (2001).
Mirela Oprisor
Actress (Romania)
Mirela Oprisor graduated from the National University of Theater and Film in Bucharest and is currently employed with the Comedy Theater in the same city. During her 15-year-long career, Oprisor performed in various stage productions and appeared in numerous films, most prominently in features directed by Francis Ford Coppola and Radu Muntean YOUTH WITHOUT YOU and TUESDAY AFTER CHRISTMAS respectively. She is the winner of several prominent awards including the Heart of Sarajevo award for Best Actress of the 16th Sarajevo Film Festival and the Best Actress awards at Cine de Gijón and Mar del Plata festivals. In 2012, Oprisor was declared the best actress in Romania and was also included on the list of best actresses in the world of the New York-based weekly newspaper and news and features website Village Voice.
