The Sarajevo Film Festival proudly announces that the 7th edition of the Sarajevo Talent Campus is to be opened by the renowned filmmaker Leos Carax. Director recognizable for his visually fascinating films, poetic style and individual approach, will give an opening lecture to the participants of the 7th Sarajevo Talent Campus on Sunday, August 18, at the Meeting Point. The lecture will be moderated by the film critic Jean-Michel Frodon.
His taking part at the Sarajevo Talent Campus will be a sort of return to Sarajevo for Carax, after his retrospective had been shown at the 1st Sarajevo Film Festival. In 1995 the audience was able to enjoy THE LOVERS ON THE BRIDGE, BAD BLOOD and BOY MEETS GIRLS.
In year 1991. Carax retreated to an eight-year exile. He returned to the world of film with POLA X. After that he directed the shorts MY LAST MINUTE (2006) and 42 ONE DREAM RUSH (2009).
Carax returned to the fore of the film world with his latest work, the feature HOLY MOTORS, which screened at the Cannes Film Festival where it won the hearts of both the audience and the critics. The Sarajevo audience had the opportunity to see this film at the 18th SFF Kinoscope programme.
