Submissions for the Heart of Sarajevo Awards for TV series are open

Eligible for entries are drama and comedy series from Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Kosovo*, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Serbia and Slovenia, which premiered between April 1, 2023, and April 30, 2024.

Online submissions are open for TV series - drama and comedy series - for the Heart of Sarajevo Awards for TV series of the 30th Sarajevo Film Festival.

The deadline for applications is March 29, 2024. Submission is free of charge.

Eligible for entries are drama and comedy series from Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Kosovo*, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Serbia and Slovenia, which premiered between April 1, 2023, and April 30, 2024.

Only the producer or rights holder of the TV series can submit it for consideration at the Sarajevo Film Festival. To be eligible for nomination, all episodes of the season must be included in the submission.

Decisions regarding nominations and awards will be made by the Professional Jury, comprising more than 450 film and TV professionals from the region.

Awards will be presented in two categories: drama series and comedy series. In the drama series category, eight awards will be given: Best Drama Series, Best Leading Actress, Best Leading Actor, Best Supporting Actress, Best Supporting Actor, Rising Star, Best Director (for an episode), and Best Screenplay (for an episode). 

In the comedy series category, six awards will be given: Best Comedy Series, Best Leading Actress, Best Leading Actor, Rising Star, Best Director (for an episode), and Best Screenplay (for an episode).

The Sarajevo Film Festival established the Heart of Sarajevo Awards for TV series in 2021 with the aim of promoting and recognizing the highest quality regional television series shown in the past year. 

The award ceremony for the Heart of Sarajevo Awards for TV series will be held during the 30th Sarajevo Film Festival, taking place from August 16 to 23, 2024.

* This designation, without prejudice to Kosovo's status, is in accordance with United Nations Security Council Resolution 1244 and the opinion of the International Court of Justice on the Kosovo declaration of independence.
