From Talents to Competition: A panel with young female directors at the 26th Sarajevo Film Festival
The Romanian director Ruxandra Ghițescu and the Kosovan director More Raça are guests of the panel From Talents to Competition, which will be organised as part of the Talents Sarajevo of the 26th Sarajevo Film Festival programme.
The panel will be held on Sunday, August 16, from 11:00 to 12:00, and the audience can participate online via Zoom: Meeting ID: 931 2854 3656. The panel will be moderated by Tanja Miščević, Deputy Secretary-General of the Regional Cooperation Council (RCC).
Ruxandra Ghițescu and More Raça are young directors whose films compete for the Heart of Sarajevo in the Competition Programme - Feature Film of the 26th Sarajevo Film Festival. Ghițescu and Raça will talk about their work and how participating in the Talents Programme has contributed to their professional development.
Ruxandra Ghițescu is a Romanian director and screenwriter. She graduated from the Media Art School in Karlsruhe (Germany). She directed films and commercials and wrote screenplays. Her debut feature film “Otto the Barbarian” competes for the Heart of Sarajevo in the feature film competition programme of the 26th Sarajevo Film Festival.
More Raça is a writer and director born in Kosovo in 1992. She studied directing at the University of Pristina, and is currently studying for a doctorate in Bulgaria. Her debut feature film “Andromeda Galaxy” had its world premiere in the feature film competition programme of the 26th Sarajevo Film Festival.
The competition programme of the 26th Sarajevo Film Festival is characterised by a significant presence of male and female authors who were part of the Talents initiative, founded by the Berlinale, and which has been part of the Sarajevo Film Festival for fourteen years. It is a creative hub that brings together young film professionals: directors, actors, producers, editors, cameramen, screenwriters, as well as film critics.
