10th edition of the Bosnian and Herzegovinian Film Program with 36 world premieres

Association of Filmmakers of BiH in collaboration with Sarajevo Film Festival will this year present the 10th edition of BiH Film Program. In the framework of this program 61 titles will be screened:

  • 3 fiction film (1 World Premieres),
  • 26 documentary films (14 World Premieres),
  • 9 short fiction films (4 World Premieres), and
  • 23 student films (17 World Premieres), with 14 films competing for best student film awards.

All films have been produced in the period from September 2014 up to now, including feature films OUR EVERYDAY STORY by Ines Tanović, THOUSAND by Nenad Đurić, and SABINA K. with actress Alena Džebo and actor Alban Ukaj in the main roles. The program will also gather student and professors from BiH film academies and 14 films will compete for best student films awards.

This program was established in 2003 when only 3 feature films and 3 short films were presented, while today it brings a selection of 61 titles produced in the past 12 months with an exception of 3 films which have been pšroduced out of BIH but with BiH talents and themes. Films in Bosnia and Herzegovina as well as all activities related to film, are made under difficult conditions and therefore it is a true miracle to this year present such variety and diversity in the program.

Association of Filmmakers of BiH will also present its activities during the opening of the program on Saturday August 15th 2015 in Cinema City at 12:30 pm, and during the festival a number other activities related to the promotion of BiH cinema. Some of these activities are the presentation of the new catalogue BH FILM 2015, „Ivica Matić“ Award Ceremony, participation at the Sarajevo Film Festival Industry Terrace, and this year the announcement of the BiH candidate for the Oscar Awards. All information will also be available on Association's website bhfilm.ba, which is the only website dedicated to promotion of BiH cinema.

Association of Filmmakers of BiH is actively engaged in developing strategies for the growth of BiH film, and recently in protecting film authors' rights. All activities are coming from our professional need to organize, systematize and legally position our industry, which without a doubt is very successful,

Welcome to the 10th BiH. Film Program.
