CineLink Talks with Dragan Bjelogrlić: GUARDIANS OF THE FORMULA Has International Potential

As part of the Cinelink Talks programme, a conversation was held with actor and director Dragan Bjelogrlić on August 17th at Hotel Europe, following the regional premiere of the film GUARDIANS OF THE FORMULA. The discussion was moderated by Maša Marković, the head of the Industry Department at the Sarajevo Film Festival.

On Thursday, August 17th, Austrian director, screenwriter, and producer Jessica Hausner conducted a masterclass at the Festival Center (Bosnian Cultural Center) as part of the 29th Sarajevo Film Festival programme. The masterclass was moderated by film critic Dana Linssen.

Adna Špuren from Sarajevo won the "Films for Future" competition

Adna Špuren from Sarajevo made the best reel on the topic "Films for Future", a competition organized for young people from Bosnia and Herzegovina by the Sarajevo Film Festival, in partnership with UNESCO city of film Sarajevo, and the Green Club, which consists of Bosnian-Herzegovinian parliamentarians, with the support of the United Nations Development Program in BiH (UNDP BiH).

Revised Screening Schedule for the 29th Sarajevo Film Festival

Film screenings from the programme of the 29th Sarajevo Film Festival on August 16th were not held due to the Day of Mourning, as decided by the Government of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina following the crime in Gradačac. According to this decision, cultural and entertainment programmes in public places were not conducted today.

Film Screenings of the 29th Sarajevo Film Festival Will Not Take Place Today

Based on the Decision of the Government of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina to declare a Day of Mourning, during which cultural and entertainment programs are not held in public places, the Sarajevo Film Festival informs its audience and the public that today, August 16th, film screenings at the Sarajevo Film Festival will not take place. Additionally, there will be no film screenings as part of the Sarajevo Film Festival programme in Mostar and Tuzla.

On account of the crime in Gradačac, the Sarajevo Film Festival is organizing a public discussion where filmmakers who have dealt with the topic of violence against women in their work and through their social engagement will discuss artistic and media representations of such violence.

The "First War Cinema Apollo" exhibition of photographs has been opened at the gallery of the Academy of Fine Arts in Sarajevo, while in the basement of the Academy of Performing Arts, screenings of films from the programme "30 Years Since the First War Cinema Apollo" have begun, marking this significant anniversary.
