24 HOUR PARTY PEOPLE and Michael Winterbottom

The Tribute to... programme of the 20th Sarajevo Film Festival, a retrospective of films by the brilliant British director Michael Winterbottom, opened on Monday (18 August).

The first film screened is 24 HOUR PARTY PEOPLE (2002), a detailed depiction of the music and dance heritage of Manchester from the late 70's to the early 90's.

With twenty-three feature and documentary films made in the period from 1992 to 2014, Michael Winterbottom is not only one of the most prolific, but also one of the most stylistically diverse and elusive European directors of our time.
