Tonight: The Awards Ceremony of the 29th Sarajevo Film Festival
At the National Theater of Sarajevo, the official awards ceremony for the Heart of Sarajevo awards will take place at 9.30 p.m., preceded by a red carpet event at 9.00 p.m.
A total of 49 films are competing for the Heart of Sarajevo awards in the Competition Programmes of the 29th Sarajevo Film Festival. Additionally, there will be two gala events and a special screening.
At 8:30 p.m. at the Coca-Cola Open Air Cinema, the film CLUB ZERO by Jessica Hausner, this year's guest of the "Tribute To" programme, will be screened tonight. Hausner will address the audience before the screening. The renowned director was a guest at the 23rd Sarajevo Film Festival in 2017 and opened the 11th edition of the Talents Sarajevo program.
The film follows a teacher who joins the staff of an international boarding school to teach a subject called "Conscious Eating", during which she learns that eating less is healthier. The other teachers slowly notice what's happening, and when concerned parents start to realize, "Club Zero" becomes a reality. Among the producers of this film is the Obala Art Center from Sarajevo, as part of a joint project with TRT and the Doha Film Institute.
At 8:45 p.m. at the Stari Grad Open Air Cinema, the film HOTEL PULA by Andrej Korovljev will be screened. The film crew will greet the audience before the screening.
Today at 10 a.m., we invite the audience to attend a Masterclass with Lynne Ramsey, the recipient of the Honorary Heart of Sarajevo award. The Masterclass starts at 10 a.m. at the Festival Center (Bosnian Cultural Center). Admission is free, but tickets need to be collected at the Main Box Office.
In Mostar, at the BH Telecom Open Air Cinema, the film THE DEATH OF THE LITTLE MATCH GIRL by Goran Kulenović will be shown at 9.30 p.m. A screening of the same film is scheduled at the Bingo Open Air Cinema Tuzla at 8.30 p.m.
Screenings of films from the 29th Sarajevo Film Festival programme will also take place on Saturday, August 19th. The screening schedule is available on the Festival's website: www.sff.ba.
Tickets are available for purchase online through the Festival's website at tickets.sff.ba, as well as through the new mobile SFF application, developed with support from Mastercard. Tickets are also available for purchase at the Box Office (Bosnian Cultural Center, BKC) from 9 a.m. until 10 p.m.
